NASA AIS Engine 2
The NASA AIS Engine 2 comprises a Dual Frequency Marine VHF Receiver,
and a powerful computer which receives data on both AIS A and B
channels. This information is then converted to NMEA format and
send to a PC via the inbuilt RS-232 interface. Also included on the
AIS engine is an optional input for a GPS (RMC sentence), and when connected the users own vessel data is incorporated into the
information stream.
The NASA AIS Engine is supplied with a free copy of SeaClear Software,
but can also be used with plotters of other PC Software with an AIS
facility. Also included is a data cable to connect the unit to a PC
Serial Port, and a 12 volt power cable. |
